The Jesus Discoveries: 10 Historic Finds That Bring Us Face-to-Face with Jesus Book

In an age of growing skepticism, many demand hard evidence before believing anything is true--especially when it comes to Jesus and the Bible. A kind of "artifacts or it didn't happen" attitude. Perhaps nowhere is this attitude more prevalent than when considering the claims of Christianity. The irony of this is that there are centuries of archaeological discoveries that support the narratives found in the Bible. Lost cities and civilizations, found. Lost art and technology, rediscovered. Lost documents, retrieved.

Okay, fine, the skeptic says. I'll give you cities and art. But what about Jesus? There's no actual evidence that he ever lived, right? Wrong.

In this eye-opening, faith-fortifying book from acclaimed New Testament scholar and minister Jeremiah Johnston, you'll encounter ten of the most compelling historic finds that corroborate the truth claims found in the Bible regarding who Jesus said he was, when and where He lived, His claims and aims, how His life ended, and how that wasn't the end of His story. Far more than a tour of the past, The Jesus Discoveries connects His story with your story, perhaps in ways you've never before considered--revealing how Jesus's story changes your story.

Unanswered: Lasting Truth for Trending Questions Book
About

We live in a radically skeptical age. Tough questions are being asked about Christianity. And most believers are ill-equipped to provide the answers our culture and communities desperately need. Many in today’s church do not know the Bible as well as they should and they struggle with their own “big questions” about the faith.

After receiving more than four thousand questions at his Christian Thinkers Society events over the span of six years, Dr. Jeremiah Johnston began to recognize six categories of recurring, trending questions that dominated the rest. In Unanswered, he tackles these tough issues that plague the minds of believers but are rarely addressed in church, such as…

  • Why is it that God often seems to remain silent?
  • How can we trust in the bodily resurrection of Jesus, and what does it mean for us today?
  • What do Christians need to understand about suicide and mental illness?
  • How should Christians respond to spiritual darkness and the obsession with paranormal activity?
  • Why is biblical illiteracy so dangerous for Christians and the church?
  • Why do we experience suffering and pain?

Unanswered will leave you enriched, characterized by a thinking faith, capable to communicate confidently, and committed to escape the tendency to offer trite answers to a skeptical world.

Body of Proof: The 7 Best Reasons to Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus--and Why It Matters Today Book
About

Culture is doing its best to convince the world there is nothing special about Jesus. And many Christians never get beyond a Sunday school understanding of their own faith. As a result, Christianity’s most important historical fact—the resurrection—is often the most misunderstood, relegated to Easter and funeral services, creating a powerless Christianity.

In Body of Proof, acclaimed apologist and scholar Dr. Jeremiah Johnston sets out to show why Jesus’ victory over death is central to a believer’s faith. Straightforward, accessible, and practical, this book examines the latest archaeological and textual findings and presents seven tangible, fresh reasons to believe Jesus really rose from the dead—and why it matters today as the foundation of our hope in the face of suffering and grief. When you fully understand the implications of the resurrection, you will begin to understand the power of Christ in you. This changes everything.

As Dr. Gary Habermas writes in the foreword, “Dr. Johnston realizes that a solid case for the resurrection involves both head and heart working together… This is a huge task, and Dr. Johnston needs to be given credit for jumping in with both feet and in the process showing the reader how all these various tasks can be combined in order to bring about a truly beautiful, fully orbed answer to the ongoing quest for truth, meaning, beauty, and peace—even for eternity!”
